Context is what makes us different and determines how we see ourselves as a nation, as an entity, as a person.

Our lives are shaped by the way we see things. We do not see the world through transparent glass, but through our own stained glass. The coloured pieces, including their texture and arrangement, are made out of our life experiences. We form substantive beliefs about ourselves, about what we value and how we should relate to other people.

The artists representing their countries underline the characteristics of each nation: Austria with the perseverance of analysing reality in a silent but active way, showing the process as well as the result. Romania contemplating the past to understand how to build the future in the light of different ideological moments. Bulgaria with the molecular social revolution aiming at each inhabitant and transforming perceptions of how to construct new ways of cooperation.

Looking to the characteristics of each nation, we realise that together we can look forward to a more complex future, to more lucrative structures and that togetherness is no longer a goal, but a reality. We are here and now, so here and now we should get the best out of each other and ourselves.

Perspective is how we see things. Artists raise questions and in the end we start to accept new possibilities of analysing things, of building new perspectives and of shaping our future.

The way of staging the show with the three booths of different dimensions are a reference to Stonehenge and thus to the European Year of Cultural Heritage.

The exhibition was presented first on the ocasion of the EU Council Presidency of Austria.

Organised by forumul cultural austriac, Austrian Embassy Bucharest and Atelier 030202.

Partner: Teatrul de Comedie

The original version of this exhibition has been made possible with the support of Raiffeisen Bank Romania.

Cum privim lucrurile
- expoziție -

24 ianuarie - 23 februarie 2019
Vernisaj: 24 ianuarie 2019, 19.00

Atelier 030202
Str. Sf. Vineri nr. 11 bucurești

Artiști: Beate Hecher & Markus Keim (AT), Cătălin Burcea (RO), Ivelina Ivanova (BG)

- Ausstellung -

24. Januar - 23. Februar 2019
Eröffnung am 24. Januar 2019 um 19.00 Uhr

KünstlerInnen: Beate Hecher & Markus Keim (AT), Cătălin Burcea (RO), Ivelina Ivanova (BG)
